The Groundhog Rugby Alumni Association (G.R.A.A.) is a 501(c)(3) organization created to promote the advancement of collegiate rugby and educate the public about collegiate rugby.

SAVE THE DATE: March 13-24, 2008

Background:
We are planning to celebrate the 25th anniversary of UD rugby & fulfill Coach’s dream of taking his team to play some international rugby.

Trip Overview:
For the majority of people, travel is planned to begin from Dallas (we will have other travel options available at a later date) on March 13, 2008 to London. We plan to spend 5-6 days in London, playing 2 matches & then 4-5 days in Ireland (Limerick area) playing another 2 matches. We hope to field a competitive side and a social side at all or most venues to ensure playing time for all. We will have sightseeing tours of these areas and other events scheduled, as well as plenty of free time. We hope to take 15 to 18 students and up to approximately 25 Old Boys. Wives & girlfriends are invited, but it is an adults-only trip, i.e. no children. We will return on March 24th, 2008, which you should note is the Monday after Easter Sunday. We are looking to solidify the travel, accommodations and logistics by July 15th.

Finances:
The tour will be structured the following way:
1. The Alumni will pay for themselves.
2. Other fundraising efforts will be channeled through the Groundhog Rugby Alumni Association (G.R.A.A.).
3. The G.R.A.A. will subsidize the cost of the undergraduates we take along.

Cost:
The full-cost estimate for those originating in Dallas is $2,500 - $2,800 per seat. The cost for those originating in other cities (U.S. or int’l) will vary and more details to follow.Seat Reservation:
There is a limited number of seats, we hope to take up to approximately 25 Old Boys. (Since we will have a cut-off point, participation is based on a first-come/first-served basis with final decisions made by Coach.)

We are going to be conducting an organized fundraising effort. We will be soliciting corporate & private donations and selling advertising and conducting a raffle. Steve Lamure is coordinating this activity and we will distribute more details as they are available.
